Lifestyle Management Program

I read about the Nationwide Better Health lifestyle management program in one of our newsletters; it seemed like a good opportunity to receive professional coaching in establishing healthy eating and exercise habits. Full storyI have a busy and stressful work environment. But with the assistance and encouragement of my health coach, Chris Gourash, we established goals to reduce my body weight, regularly exercise and consume well-balanced healthy meals and, subsequently, better manage my stress level. My health coach took the time to understand my lifestyle and the challenges that I face, then he suggested incremental phases that are helping me in meeting my goal to reduce my body weight/fat. He helped me gradually develop an exercise regimen and eat healthier meals.
The results are better stress and fatigue management, as well as reduction in overall body weight. The specific changes that I made to achieve my goals are: reduce my fat, calories, sugar and salt intake; increase the number of exercise/workout sessions per week; drink more water; read nutrition labels on food boxes/cans; choose to eat healthier options over less healthy ones; try not to stay at work more than 12 hours a day; and try to get a proper amount of sleep. The results have been absolutely amazing! I don’t have access to my charts to compare the before and after results, but I believe that I lost approximately 25 pounds and I witnessed a significant drop in my blood pressure. I had to purchase new pants, shorts and belts; I probably need to also purchase new shirts because the old ones are significantly loose. This problem, I don’t mind having! Hide this content.
